Am I likely to need one of these to change my bath mixer cartridge? I thought I'd fixed it but still doesn't close off properly.

In my opinion if you know the tap make & model & you can order the new valves I’d change the valves. If you’re buying off the shelf & don’t know the make & model it’s a long shot it’ll be fixed. Replace taps.

I just can't justify the price of it. Looks like a great idea but to be fair I've never been beaten except once when I first started out and I was trying to take a stubborn valve off with pump pliers, I was so green it's embarrassing . A mate who's a plumber once phoned me to see if I could remove a valve he'd been fighting with for a couple of hours, had it off first try. Good deep sockets, some decent leverage and something to brace the tap body and you'll loosen anything. I'll probably buy one when I crack my first basin I spoke too soon.... Admitted defeat today on a basin mixer that's been in since 1975, to be fair though the easy tap splitter wouldn't have helped with a mixer tap.

Dream on endfeed, no one wants to work anymore, they just want computer jobs, sat at a monitor buying and selling, they'll only wake up when the bubble pops and the revolution comes followed by war and out of the ruins will come the new workforce, only the fit will survive, the ones who can make a fire, catch things to eat and grow stuff, no one will be able to order a pizza or go to macfuckindonalds, you will have to work to live, and it will come,

I’m actually surprised that over all this brexit rubbish there hasn’t been riots on the streets or running battles with the stay & leavers.

Thread resurrection alert! I finally condescended to buying an easy tap splitter about 6 months ago. It's helped me out a few times, actually wouldn't be without it now
