Hi lads, how are we dealing with this?
some lads solder them, some lads hit a screwdriver on the groove with a hammer, some lads even replace!
what are you doing ?

Replace, otherwise the fix is temporary

Trouble is it started leaking again and he had a call back, best to replace the valve.

I think you just heat it as it is with water in it and the expansion seals it, I've never had the oppotunity to try it, but i trust Dick and Endfeed, Its worth a try to get you out of the house,

Since it's leaked when I was last at it I replace it cause cheaper than diesel!
Also I've never had one in a situation to try Dicks method where if it failed it wouldn't damage anything until I got the call saying "help".

its not always practical but sometimes you might have a full day, things going tits up and you need to get to other jobs, if a quick fix can get you back on the road, its worth a punt, it all depends, if the client never saw the leak before, you might be able to bill him, its going to be the aweful situ we get in all the time, " it was ok till you came the other day" but, it was't our fault, a leaking iso might have leaked for yonks,

It worked for me whilst I was there, however it leaked over night. It was in a leisure centre with a drain in the tiled floor so not a problem for me. I am still curious to whether I heated it enough. I hire a pipe freezer machine and replace now 👍👍👍👍

If it’s boiler iso valves I’d avoid turning them if the boiler is more than 4-5 years old, even the ones on the expensive German shiteboxes will leak!! If you’re unfortunate enough to have one leaking & the Pubs are open; turning it On/Off several times can cure it. Another method I’ve used is blast it with the blowlamp, this can expand the O Ring & seal it. These methods should be enough to get you Paid, out the door & drive away at great speed, with the Customer’s Tail Light Guarantee honoured, you’re golden👍👍
Of course, there’s only one way to keep your reputation, replace them.

This is true rocky😞 it was in a leisure centre with tiled floors and drain in floor near by,so no dramas. I'm still curious this could still work, more heat needed maybe 🤔
