Went to with my mate yesterday
Swapped a diverter valve on an old baxi he
All ok then boiler would fire, bent the micro switch to the heat & all ok. Then the hot didn’t fire, pushed the black button & intermittently worked, swapped that micro switch £30 part, worked twice then nothing, then put the heating on & water worked when the pipe was hot so changed the heat temp part, I did that!! 😊, nothing!!! Then the boiler stated banging, phones customer for a third time, recommended new boiler before we even spent any money or started anything but it was just fix it!!! Power flushed it as mate said heat exchanger was probably blocked, tested & boiler a lot quieter, heating & water ok but still banging when knobs turned up over 2/3 of the way.
Told customer & she started the we should’ve had a new boiler’, can you do today for free in I pay for a new boiler!!!
We arrived at 10 & left after 5
Free!!!!!!!
She spent £300 on parts yesterday, a power flush probably got charged £200+, my day rate plus my mates!!
He said we could’ve fitted a new boiler in less time & saved her hundreds.
Some people just won’t listen, they think everyone is out to rip them off
We’re not, we can only recommend & do what we can
Hopefully I’ll get more work with him again now as I really enjoyed it.
Cheers all

Some customers have way more air in their heads than could ever fill a pipe!

Today's generation of HE boilers have passed me by and I have to say I'm pleased about this because it looks like even the pro's have great trouble with them!
Glad you enjoyed the day rocky.
It's really an entire plumbing system in one unit int it?

It's really an entire plumbing system in one unit int it? Yeah there’s a lot going on. I think if you’re working on boilers everyday it wouldn’t take too long to become competent. I find it quite interesting.
