My mum neighbour, same 1960’s built council house. At the back is the back door & entrance hall, directly on the right is a cupboard housing electric & gas meter plus the main soil stack for the house. It’s pretty hidden but I assume the kitchen waste, toilet & bathroom that are directly above all go into it. I’m not sure if there an aav or anything but these houses have some sort of vent coming vertically out of the roof where this stack would extend to if it kept going up.
The chap, a nice chap who did things for my mum wants a downstairs toilet as he’s now in his 80’s. He’s things in the under-stairs cupboard which is also in the entrance hall but on the left & at the back of the hallway.
The floor would need to be dug out to house the new soil pipe but would it be better to connect into the stack or just go straight out to the main soil outside that goes along to all the houses. There are no drain covers & I’m assuming the main waste runs along to each house in front of the kitchens where about 5 houses along is an alleyway with a manhole cover. It must be a good system as in 50 odd years I’ve never know it to block & be cleared.
I’ll try to draw a picture.
Any thoughts please?
Cheers all

Sorry for the pic!
The soil pipe in the front cupboard, the cupboard ‘C’ in the back of the hall. Kitchen to the left. Blue line main soil pipe outside that runs from garden to garden?
Cheers

I'd break into the stack if possible rocky Below ground? It’ll have to be as the waste pipe will need to be buried. I told him the floor needs to be dug up & redone. He’s ok with any work needed.

don't write off a saniflow, they can be a good alternative, weigh up how much use it will have, they are a realy good alternative in the right place, I've even fitted those cheap as chips ones at £80 and had no comebacks, Sanifow are expensive but give a good warrantee, if they breakdown, they have their own or franchised engineers who come and fix them,
