I think they come set to enough time to wash hand and you replace when not staying on long enough.

Not found a problem with the time that percussion taps stay on. If it's too short, just push it again.
Perhaps someone can invent an hot air machine that doesn't turn off if you move your hands 1mm away from it.
Most of the time, I just wipe my hands on my trousers.
