You don't need a licence for removal of this pitch fibre stuff, it's very low risk although you now need to wear the recommended PPE and bag it up for collection in approved bags by a specialist company.
N.B. I ripped loads of the stuff out in the 80s/90s and just threw it in the skip!

Easy to cut with a wood saw E/F.
Mostly I smash it up with the hammer though.

Easy to cut with a wood saw E/F. Mostly I smash it up with the hammer though. if I end up doing this repair,do you think I will get a nice cut? I've got visions of it being a right twat, splitting/shattering as I cut itπ₯΄.it also looks larger in diameter than 110mm plastic. I'm thinking of joining with a fernco? My place is extremely cautious with anything asbestos, not even aloud to work on the old black toilet cistern!πππ

The "bloke from Poland" there reminded me of my gorilla-like brother-in-law who is from Ukraine. Thick as thick can be, clumsy and built like a brick shithouse and helpful as long as he doesn't break anything or put his foot through the ceiling as has already happened. Smokes at least 40 a day. When he was over one time a couple of years ago, can't remember why but needed to clean up some external roofing soffit or similar which I think is asbestos. I warned him and he just shrugged, boomed out "Ahhhh.....AzBezt" then proceeded to sand it getting dust everywhere ....
Russians or people from that area are a little crazy. Their driving style can be Kamikaze, and woe betide anyone who gets in their way. It's the vodka.

There's different colours/types of asbestos. the type used in pipes and building materials is the low risk type. Plus it's not loose, the fibres are bonded together. In this case with tar, but in the case of sheets asbestos/roofing/drain pipes, etc it's held together with cement.
It's the loose stuff used to lag pipes that gets into the air and breathed in that's high risk.
