I'm not a plumber - a long way from it and you should hopefully get some "official" decent advice soon but in the meantime I can share what I know which is generally flexis from a bog seem not to be liked. I fitted a mcalpine flexi on our bog a year ago and so far so good but maybe a year is nothing? I figured if flexis are frowned up then I may as well get the best quality one.
Also you know there are loads of different kinds? All listed on the mcalpine website - not sure if toolstation carries them all. I think sfx has most.

Viva products are fantastic in price and quality - I use lots of the viva flexi's, no problems

thanks for the reply,I can understand flexs not being as good as rigid coupler's but like flexy pipes they help us diyers ,i have used them on my ensuite and bathroom without issues-infact the ensuite was a secondhand loo and came with one and has been fitted since dec 2015 and they are both upstairs ,this one wouldn't be so tragic if it leaks but obviously theres no point in fitting something,er,crap but equally Mcalpine is approx £20 where as viva £6-8 , Sorry missed your reply PB,ok I'll give viva ago-just wanted to check

flexi's have become the only way to fix the modern 'hide away' piping , just be sure they are not 'washing lining' in the middle,

Wasn't it much easier when you could just see everything? The hide away stuff looks good but when there's a problem.......... The flexis work out fine though, I wouldn't worry, once you're not doing a crazy bend or bends. These always remind me of flexi pan connectors!!!! I prefer the sound from a pan connector though

I’m not a big fan of any kind of flexi, but for BTW WC’s they’re a God send. Funny, but it’s the McAlpine factory up the road from Puller Towers that makes the flexi WC connectors. What a wonderful company & their quality control is second to none. Excellent quality products👍👍👍
Their Staff are treated very well, with a long waiting list of people trying to join the company. I’ve done maintenance work in the factory & it’s a great place to work, everyone gets a good laugh & they’re all friendly - typical Glasga👍

Another great company I deal with in Scotland is Horne engineering, Tec team help me loads on the phone with shower valve, can't understand a word they say, but that's beside the point
