Following on from my post here is a pic of a 1960’s internal soil stack. The run to its left goes above ground to the kitchen sink & it goes up into the bathroom where bath, basin & toilet connects to it. There’s never been a problem with blockages or smells. So, how would you connect a shower drainpipe to it under ground? I do have a video of it but I can’t upload it. The stack is cast iron. Cheers all

very difficult that one rocky, If you want to go below ground you'll have to take the soilpipe down and then, It depends on what the drain is made of but you'll have to cut into it and make a junction, then rebuild the soil stack back up, If there is a manhole near, a good option would be taking the shower pipe below ground to the manhole,

It’ll all have to be dug out I think. But is it easier to try to connect into that pipe or into the actual outside drain itself. It’s a live drain with probably another 8 houses on the run before this one so water, piss & turds will be live also. I suppose getting to the drain underground will be ok, just digging. Then lay all the pipe out & in position then cut into the live drain and connect as fast as possible. Is that how you see it if going into the drain & not the stack?

If it is just a shower waste you need connecting rocky why not use a whale pump, that way you can terminate the shower run easier into another waste pipe or use a mechanical boss.
