No I've never seen or used one, I can see the advantage of not having a strap and I also understand the teeth will be to grab the boss and pull it in while the glue sets, As you rightly say cinders the zagged edges will cause problems if used in a saniflo system or even in a washing machine outlet with fibres snagging ,

The ones we had mid 70s were just like that, but with no teeth to grip. One of the plumbers using one for the first time on a vertical soil stack said the next day "I was stood holding the bloody thing for 2 hrs before the glue started to set" .
