So I’ve been looking into the drains at my mums for reason on extension maybe

I spoke with Thames Water & they do not have the plans of the drains/sewers.

They passed me to their development department & was emailed yesterday also saying they don’t have the plans but ...

In order to obtain a build over agreement if needed I need to send them a plan of the drainage system with flow directions & manholes. Plus any plans of alterations with inspection chambers on it.

I spoke with Slough Council & they’ve told me I need to get the plans from Thanes Water!!!

No one seems to have the plans.

So, how do you progress? I can’t start digging the garden up!!!

Anyone have experience with this? Any advice as to my next port of call?

What I would try as my approach to such an issue Rocky

First I would keep I an eye open for anyone getting building work done beside your mothers and pick the builders brains as to how he would deal with the issue so he could quote for any such work

Next would be the water board who you see dealing with blockages on and in the real world not the office lot - up here they use a subcontractor and they'll keep you right.

Finally, when getting a private survey for a property the local surveyor for that area has plenty knowledge of physical drawings which the council haven't bother importing into their systems.

I searched the planning portal & you can now see people plans which is good. The people opposite had an extension but only had a ds toilet added close to the soil stack but still must’ve built over the outside drains. I’ve got a builder looking on Wednesday morning for so prices & insight so I’ll see what he says.
