If the hot pipe work isn't lagged to death it's either settle for no flow to keep the temperature there used to or an 8 or more degree loss in temperature on the last one I checked.

Mines ok, red hot.
The only thing is the bath hot, it’s always taken ages to fill it. Rct Jnr is always having baths with these bath bomb things & bubbles. She’s in for an hour or more, she set herself up with laptop to watch a film & candles, it’s like a mini spa!

Combi H/W is coping well they're quite powerful boilers, it will have to work that bit harder now it's gone cold granted. Try reducing the flow at the tap end EF to see if gets hotter that way (could be the D/Valve playing up). Cold weather always brings a glut of electric showers with it struggling to reach temperature.

I have't noticed any differance, Baxi 105 ( non condencing ) I set the stats about midway, If I set them any higher the water is too hot and the rads glow in the night,

My shower likes to throw out the occasional 15 seconds of cold water in summer, not often but at some temps it does it, it's just not very good at raising the temp a little bit when the incoming water is a higher temp. It's non modulating so always throwing 28kw at it and overheating, then stopping until the temp drops, then starting again. In winter it doesn't happen, so right now it's spot on

Have you change the diverter in your baxi?

My 16 year old Turbomax is great with hot water, especially after I cleaned out the plate hex with some acid few years ago. I turn the water temp control on boiler down a bit in summer, and up a bit in winter.
If your boiler has a hot water temp control (some don't eg. older Worcesters), have you turned it up?

yes mate it's made a difference, might give my heat exchanger a clear out! Im a "wet" plumber so don't do boilers at work so it will be a nice bit of experience for me👍👍👍

Depending on the boiler, getting the plate hex in and out can be a doddle or sometimes a bit tricky. But that's the only difficult bit. Get yourself a bottle of Spirits Of Salts and pour in both sides of plate and leave for 10 mins. Flush out and job's a good 'un. Precautions are usual for dealing with acid - eyewear, do it outside and don't breathe the fumes.

How would it go if you poured one shot in both sides? That shit is lethal Some people say clean in with brick acid hence my question about one shot

I use the Spirits of Salt. Bit milder but still nasty stuff. Just leave it in a bit longer and it dissolves the rust flakes on the ch side of the plate which is usually the problem that reduces plate performance a lot. I do the hot water side as well because I'm in hard water area, but there's not a lot that comes out of that side. Give it 10 to 15 mins and then I put the plate in a bucket of water and then flush it out. Performs like new after. £4 for a bottle of S O S/One shot versus minimum £50 for new plate - Saves plenty of beer vouchers. I think brick acid is just a different variety of the same thing.

If you have a shitty 24KW Combi it’s going to struggle in cold weather. Lucky if you’ll get 9-10ltr/min @ 35degrees!! 40KW Combis are fairly common now👍
