pressure is fine everywhere else, plumber was here for 4 hours on Thursday, took the whole gubbins apart and said eventually that a pump is needed for the downstairs shower cos the pressure is not good enough...

Vix just said he said the pressure is good everywhere else and is fine on the loo and sink next to the shower but it just seems to lose it going to the shower

if the pressures fine then a pump wont help, I'll go back to my first diagnosis, its the shower unit, if he's had it apart, that rules out the mesh filters and i'm assuming he's checked which end the cold and hot is, going off that, i'd say the stat in the shower is faulty and its not uncommon in these bar showers, smiley-sad029 rain

and then there's always the possiblity of a partially blocked pipe, maybe a bit of grit or kinked pipe in the installation, I did notice the pipework was't very clever, plastic pipes everywhere and not very neat as though a builder had done it rather than a plumber,

And this is a new build........!!!!! When i started in this game all work in new houses had to be signed off by a clerk of works employed by the developer / local council to make sure everything was 100 % before they handed over the property and this type of thing would not happen , and if it was found that you were at fault for not doing something right or cutting corners to get the job done you would be sacked . These days nobody seems to give a toss and the blame just gets passed from pillar to post.........Worrying times ahead....!!! Attachment Deleted

sign of the times pipeslice, plastic pipes has made it easy for anyone to 'have a go' at plumbing,

its the trv then ( thermastic rad valve) its fighting against the flow of water, its trying to shut off and the water's bouncing it about, these days they are supposed to be bi-directional but they work better on the flow side of the rad,
