Hello all
In my rental flat the bath has cracked. The tenants are spot on & haven’t moaned or anything.
It’s going to need replacing.
The problem is is that it’s as wide as the bathroom & it tiled on top.
I don’t particularly want to rip the bathroom apart as it’s all money I don’t want to spend.
I’ve been searching for a bit of a smaller bath but only a bit smaller so I can get it in & then fill/box the other end.
Any thoughts please?
Cheers all

I’ve found a 1600 but it’s acrylic. Struggling to find a steel that size.

I'd go with acrylic , they are better than steel imho, The tenant is a ‘big’ lady, very nice but very big. It’s cracked by the plug hole which is also the shower end so that’s why I was thinking steel.

I expect she'll not get lighter so I to would look to go acrylic and strengthen both the floor and make a fully boxed frame to support the bath in all areas to spread the stress and strain as impact force is twice that of applied force.
In our area for bath deals you can't beat B&Q ex display units and since its rental property I appreciate you wish to save money but quality is needed for your problem so making a push for 8 mm would the least you could consider.

They’ve got a child too so shower tray is out. It’d be better but I understand kids like bubble baths before bed.
It’s ok getting the bigger out as I cun cut it in half, it the issue of the new on in, probably need to take tiles off the wall. Nightmare.
Cheers all

I agree with Tom on both points, fit acrylic bath or shower tray. If she’s a Lard Arse, a big shower tray would be best.

yea and don't forget, fat mothers will only attract fat lads, imagine that in a 5 foot bath, ,,,wet floor , ceiling down, and then of course the kid will get fat too so he'll only get fat birds, better get the first floor reinforced

The new bath will need a warning sign on it for maximum weight restriction!! Maybe someone could invent a bath with suspension! Attachment Deleted
