Is it the case that if you turn the mains cold off then like a combi boiler the hot & cold both stop?

Just a wee point on this; A Megaflo type unit, with an internal bubble & especially if it’s fitted upstairs, may siphon water out the UVC after you turn it off.
Units with external expansion vessels are prone to vessel failure, so if they’re poorly fixed they can fall off the wall & flood the gaff. So, if you’re servicing UVCs(should be done every year) just ensure the vessel is well fixed..........along with all the other servicing requirements of G3. 👍

also another point worth mentioning is that, when you turn off the cold mains, the cylinder is pressurized and fill force hot water out for a short while,
