Hi. Fixing wall cabinet on top of tiles and fixing to stud behind. what size drill bit would you use to go through tiles? It’ll depend what size fixings your using chum? I put mine up with those toggle fixings as it was into plasterboard & the hole was big compared to a red or brown plug.

Hi. Fixing wall cabinet on top of tiles and fixing to stud behind. what size drill bit would you use to go through tiles? Ceramic tiles a 6mm masonry drill bit, porcelain tiles use a 6mm diamond tipped holesaw with water sprayed on the tip to keep it cool while drilling.

Even with plasterboard, I’d just drill & fit red rawlplugs into the tiles.

As Arfur says 6mm bit. Don't use hammer action!! No plugs needed if going straight into stud/timber.👍
