Why am I getting ripples on 22mm bends? Bender is 2 years old and a decent make,hardly used ( only boiler swap offsets etc) the 15mm is fine. The guides are in good nick ,always stored in bubble wrap. I had a quick look on google and the consensus is thin wall copper , if that’s the case there’s nothing I can do about it then?

It’s not the pipe, it’s not the guide, I’ve just pulled a 90 with an ancient bender that’s too heavy to use, on same pipe So it is my 2 year old machine🤬

Try Vaseline lubricant on the former and see if that cures the next bend pullin.

Try heating it up a bit, colder copper tends to ripple more in my experience.

Vogue after ripping out a Worcester, the Worcester is now resting in peace 👻 or pieces 15 years old had given good service

My thoughts exactly , as much use as a chocolate teapot,🤬 will try and dig out receipt, funny thing is , the other hand bender I have in garage, works lovely, I got it at a car boot years ago for a fiver, but it looks 50 years old and weighs a ton, 😁 |

I've only ever had the one bender, Hilmo, I bought it in 1986 when I started contracting for a Manchester firm called Frasc, I phoned them looking for work, the guy on the phones asked 2 questions, whats your name, have you got a bender, I did't at the time but I said yes and bought the Hilmo, Its never let me down and i still have it,  |

Before you take it back glowbug, clean the inside of the former and guide with steel wool and try it again.

The old Hilmor benders are not the same as the new ones, they’re also shite!!
