Iโve still got mine!!! Fuck Iโm an old cunt!! Itโs a Pipe Clamp for holding Lead Pipes for Wiping Joints. We used them for Wiping Ball Joints . Lead to Copper๐

yep, also you'd need some bar solder, tinning solder ,a tanpin ,spoke shaver, a mole cloth, plumbers black and the lost skill of wiping a joint ( and its nothing to do with spilfs )

Sounds interesting. I always marvel at the skills of plumbers of old when I see wiped joints, etc still in use. I realise that while plumbing is rarely easy, it could be more difficult without the tools and materials we have now. Some of the materials of not long ago were real heavyweight stuff - things like cast iron baths, stacks and gutter, large bore copper wate pipes, galvanised tanks/cisterns, etc. There's very little job satisfaction in pushing together some placcy pipes, but wiping a joint successfully must give some pride in your work.
Also, I think this tool really needs a video to demonstrate.
