Even if it’s a Normally Open one, which is unlikely, change a couple of wires around & Robert is a close relative!!

I know you're not in need of an ego boost but if that's true hats off to your knowledge ! Certainly the draytons have springs in them that keep up closed without power so I don't see how its a couple of wires unless mayb the honeywells are different. Anyway, I've got a (for me) big 28mm and a 22mm to go in as soon as the wife allows me. Will probably take me 3 days LOL

Fking ebay scammers. Advertised to arrive Friday or Saturday but hasn't. Says it was sent Hermes but I asked for tracking number and no reply. Ok its the wekend but first reply came in very fast on a Saturday. Still no reply to tracking request.
Sometimes you get really thick sellers who don't know that paypal pretty much always take the side of the buyer and especially in a case where no tracking info was supplied.
I dunno, maybe this guy is ok - time will tell.
ME:
Hello. When should I expect this to arrive?
ansh4793 :
Shortly was posted on weds
Although Hermes are a bit slow at the moment
I’m still waiting for things that I’ve bought
ME:
Thanks for that. When you've a minute could you give me the Hermes tracking number?
Thanks.

thats a go betweener, he's got your money and ordered it from china, he's now waiting delivery, Finally got resolved today. Ebay refunded me in full about 7 minutes after I "escalated the case". Cost me two bloody weeks though and annoyed as I don't have that much to do during "lockdown" and that but of plumbing would have kept me busy for days..... The idiot I bought from lied at least twice (is he a teenager?) and the final straw for me was when he tried to get me to close the ebay case because he said he couldn't refund me with a case open. He was so stupid I'm not sure I've got the heart to give him a red negative. So far he's got an umbleshed record of around 350 positive feedbacks. One red would sting.

I've got a similar purchase at the moment, a bike part , a derailleur gear changer, normally £17, I saw one on ebay £9.99, it stated , UK supplier, " fast and free delivery " So I bought it, a week later and its not arrived, So I went to my purchase history to check and now the advert has been altered to a chinese merchant and the item is dispatched, will arrive between April 20 and May 10, the twats must have run out of stock and awaiting new delivery, I keep saying to myself, " I'm not using ebay any more " one day, I'll learn,

If you reckon its going to take too long I'd cancel it and buy elsewhere. Final twist to my problem is that the day after I got the money back, the tracking info started moving again (after two weeks of being stuck!) ! Panicked seller was asking me to confirm I'd send it back etc. I duly arrived 2 days later. I'm annoyed with him but I'm not a thief so I gave him two choices: Either I send it back but that might take several weeks as we're not leaving the house OR would he accept £38 for it after all the hassle and delays? I think he was relieved I wasn't like him and wasn't going to steal it so he seem very happy at accepting 38 instead of the £45 originally paid. Valve is brand new and I bench tested it just to be sure ! EDIT: I have to say Ebay is totally weighted against sellers. EVen though this guy was less than helpful, it wasn't his fault Hermes took 2 weeks. He could easily have lost his item ! Moral of the tale: DONT SELL ON EBAY !

Good result Dafty. I've bought loads on Ebay and sold a few things too, even a 1960 Rover. Only rarely had problems, but Ebay are very good at resolving so I have confidence in using them. My golden rules are;
Feedback - always deal with people who have good feedback. People who sell thousands of items rarely have 100% feedback because problems happen. As long as they're around 98% or above with loads of good feedback to offset the odd bad one, that's ok.
Feedback - I often don't leave feedback, it depends on the item. Something like for example a hammer, I would leave feedback straight away, because a hammer is a hammer. Hardly going to break down. But for something like electrical goods, computer components, etc, etc I don't bother. In the past I have immediately left feedback and the item breaks down after a couple of weeks. If you've left feedback, there's no incentive for them to sort the problem out, they have your money and the good feedback. Also they can say you left good feedback so the item must be ok - even if it's not now.
Sellers - not pc this one, but of the few problems I had years ago, the sellers were more often than not of the sheet wearing variety. Rocky knows what I mean. So I always look down the Ebay listing near the bottom left where the name and address of seller is - if it's a business. If it's something like Mr Mohammed Ramadanadingdong, 17 Allah Akbar Avenue, Bradfordistan - then it's no deal. I often pay a bit more for an item to avoid carpet-kissers.
Ebay is a great marketplace. It's saved me an absolute fortune over the years and also I've sold things to others for a really good price. Just be careful out there!
