I pretty much look fondly on my apprentiships CF, mainly becase I learnt, and made it through! How the fuck is a young lad(ess), to learn if they aren't afforded the wit, wisdom, and anything that comes to hand, being thrown at them to "empower" their education?
Whilst I know there are still a lot of people wanting to try, not being "chastised", stops a lot more from learning. You are right DD, skills don't come free. Hard work in exchange for knowledge!

Having confidence to do the job is a major player in whatever job you do. How do you get through all that youngsters arrogance though in order to help build up their confidence (which it's easy to mistake for confidence)? My age group would have been murdered by the old buggers if we had shown them the same disrespect.
I try to stay positive by telling him/foreman that he'll grow into it.
