I'm definitely interested in the powerflushing rig. Looks impressive. I've tried before just connecting one rad to the mains but it didn't work that well but that might have been because being a dafty I forgot to dial down that pressure reducer on the rising main !
So you connect the heating to the pipes labelled FLOW/RETURN, the mains (or another pump?) to the pipe labelled MAIN and the pipe at the bottom is out to drain ?
But what do you do then? Can you keep the water hot with sentinel/fernox/whatever in it ? How long to run it for on a totally furred up fucked big system like mine ? How to operate the levers.
They're my questions......
Oh last question, I think I can get about 7 bar out of the mains. I wonder how much pressure one of those dedicated £1,000 machines produces? For those with limited mains pressure, do pumps exist that will go up to that pressure and still cost a fraction of a dedicated powerflusher ?

So, the valve at the Mains inlet has the lever stop removed. It can: Direct water around the Flow or Return, but also isolate the mains. It can even back flow around either by using the drain 3 way valve.
The vast majority of shit will be in your radiators & boiler. So, mains flush each individual radiator, one at a time. This is done by isolating the other radiator. Whack the radiator you’re flushing with a rubber mallet to dislodge the shit.
Depending how bad the system water is, if it’s really bad, drain it completely, fill it up again & add some X800 or similar, a high Acid content cleaner. Let it run around your system for a day or so, drain it fully again & then Mains Flush as detailed. HTH

thanks, you've both given me an idea for a new project, its a turboblast version of my heating cleaning system,
Its only in my head right now but, tomorrow I do a few experiments then perhaps a trial run in my own house, Its a tompowerplum cleaner, coming soon,

Well, just an update on my latest project. My eBay bargain arrived today & I’m well chuffed, it only needed a computer type mains plug & lead. Topped up the water & she’s golden!!.......Well nearly, one of of the clamps if not freezing, so I’ve still to fix that. But as you can see, the other one works like a wet dream!! Fired her up & twenty minutes later she’s -20degree C. A wee bit of technical background, these work on Peltier Junction principals & are fairly simple operation. They’ll never need re-gassed as it not done by Refrigeration. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted
