It’ll be burning full pelt on HW matey, so could be one or two things. Injector/Venturi could have some shit in it, carefully remove the fan etc, the fucker can fall out very easily. The fan maybe a bit unbalanced & making a noise. Baxi/Potty boilers are generally good gear, but they do need a good service. The Co2 would need to be checked also. Hi & Lo fire. A Combustion test & full FAGS. 👍 got my gas mate to do a service next week, would a service include cleaning the Venturi?

Well not normally EF. However, when the Kebab burner is removed, the gas pipe at the Gas Valve is disconnected & the Venturi/ injector falls out, very easy to lose the bugger too!! So it’s easily checked. I must be honest, not had any Baxi/Potty Boilers with a noise.
As him for a ‘strip down’ full service, this should include all the checks, cleaning everything & adjustments on a Combustion test.
As said, fairly bullet proof boilers & very easy to work on.
The circulation pump too can be removed & cleaned👍
All the above will take time, so could cost a few quid. I’d be £80-100 for a job like that.

I've heard that noise on plenty Cannon cookers (typically the larger ring) and a new nozzle jet is the cure for that and the cost of the jet is around £5.00

I'll do an update on this boilers fault next week. In the meantime, what's the difference between a platinum and a due Tec boiler?

I think it’s only the GA & Neta Tec that’s the Bastard Gas Valve, Fan etc. I think these are fairly standard EF.

I'll do an update on this boilers fault next week. In the meantime, what's the difference between a platinum and a due Tec boiler? The Platinum was the forerunner for the Duo Tech boiler so it should be a little older. Eco Blue was supposedly the forerunner to the Duo Tech, however, not many seem to have been fitted. The firm where I work have instead been pushing the "Potterton Assure" which I'm told is the same boiler as the Duo Tech, only a bit cheaper. The fitters say that the Duo Tech is the easier fit though! Keep us informed on the boiler problem EF.
