EF went for the same boiler that I did when I converted to a combi (5 years ago!). So it should be still under guarantee whatever that strange noise is. I'd be interested in hearing the noise as I have the same boiler. What kind of noise is it?

Hi c/f, this is not the duo Tec it's a baxi platinum, I've moved house đ about the last meter of the gas pipe is 15mm. Mind you I can't see the difference between the due and the platinum đ

What kind of noise is it? the noise is when the hot water is on and it's like a load humming noise but don't happen when shower is on, I'm starting to hear the noise around the mains stop tap,so I'm wondering if that could be at fault?

Maybe more of a squeak/screeching than a hum.

Itâll be burning full pelt on HW matey, so could be one or two things. Injector/Venturi could have some shit in it, carefully remove the fan etc, the fucker can fall out very easily. The fan maybe a bit unbalanced & making a noise. Baxi/Potty boilers are generally good gear, but they do need a good service.
The Co2 would need to be checked also. Hi & Lo fire. A Combustion test & full FAGS. đ

yes Dick, I would suspect it was fan related as well,

I'm going to up the gas pipe to 22mm and get my gas mate to service it.. on the plus side the cunt who installed it fitted a adey filter! And it was very clean! So I'm assuming they power flushedđ

I wouldnât be too worried about the Gas Pressure EF, if itâs only the last 1M in 15mm the working pressure at the boiler maybe OKđ The working pressure at the boiler can be easily checked mate. What you must remember; itâs a pre-mix boiler, so itâll leave the Gas Valve at atmospheric pressure. They can operate fine at lower pressures.

The Duo Tech was so bad that you had to move house then EF? The most popular noise fault that I get called to on a modern system ends up being a worn cartridge in a tap. Try this - turn on any hot tap and whilst it's running have a look at all the other taps in the property, if one of them is running without you turning it on it will that one that's causing the noise. It might not be this, but it's worth giving it a go before going technical.

good tip that tappy, how does that tap run ? is it to with the tap won't shut if the pressure in the pipe is not closing it down ??

endfeed has a noise on his boiler, can anyone offer any ideas what it might be Are we talking about the high pitch squealing sound? Water inlet filter with grit obstruction could be added to the list if the other suggest cures don't cure it!

good tip that tappy, how does that tap run ? is it to with the tap won't shut if the pressure in the pipe is not closing it down ?? I'm not sure of the why the faulty tap runs tom when you turn a different tap on. It's very often the hot one on the sink that runs. You can get anything from a slight knock to a loud juddering noise - it can be any tap in the house that's the noisy one but if one is turning itself on when another tap is opened then that's usually the one that's causing the noise problem. It's never a high pitched squeal noise though, so I'm thinking it's not this now.
