I had a call this morning at 0810hrs, I thought I’d answer it. Woman, leak in kitchen behind units, she said she know the position of the leak. 2 plumbers looked but walked away as units need to come out.
I told her the units might not come out in one piece but the leak needs fix pad the floors knackered & she said the units are wet!
I said I’d go as it 1 min drive from my house, she can’t see me until Wednesday and she’s a single mother on benefits! Insurance will cover units but not fixing leak.
I’ll invoice her but told her it’s not a cheap job as it sounds a pain
Then the sillyness began....
As long as it’s no more than £50 it’ll be ok!!!!!!
Happy bank holiday Monday from sunny Berkshire

If she can wait until Weds it can't be that urgent. Totally wrong to expect a price cap before seeing the job and my guess would be that you wouldn't get a plumber to do anything for less than £50.
ROcky, is this one a bit of a case of how long is a piece of string? I mean you don't know till you get there how much work there might be in removing cabinets, then how much isolating the water (could be trivial or draining a whole block of flats down...) then is the leak on a bit of pipe you can get to or is it right in the middle of a load of other pipes ?
So Dafty's Plumbing Ltd would charge between £99 and £300

If she wants cabinets out, floor up it’s got to be £200+ Certainly not £50 I wouldn’t be interested

She wouldn't pay either. You could break your back under and between cabinets and have the problem sorted, then get the sob story of why she hasn't a penny..... Attachment Deleted
