Not strictly plumbing but I'm sure there's a lot more experience out there in all sorts of stuff.
Anyway, I will want to replace floor tiles in the kitchen. I did think about tiling over but would mean the floor level quite high compared to the next room.
I know its going to be hard graft getting them off - plan to use a heavy sds drill I have (the screwfix one). But my question is once they're off will the resulting surface be ok to start laying new tiles on? Its a concrete floor. Or will I have to spend more time preparing the surface (laying a thin screed or something else?)

I’d definitely remove old tiles
Floor may need attention but it’ll be a proper job.

Is the floor concrete the tiles are fixed to?

Is the floor concrete the tiles are fixed to? Yep Well if it's a bag mix your in for a workout and self leveller to correct the surface or if it's an adhesive you'll just need a sharp shovel.

You could be lucky. They might come away easily! Definitely take them up though. There'll be clouds in the kitchen!! Cover up as much as you can.
