A chap rang me about fitting his shower. I looked & he’s attempted to fit it. Chased pipes into wall etc. but what he’s done is drill the pipe holes too small for the plastic pipe concealing covers to go in the wall so now the shower is loose & moves a bit, no good to anyone.
I’ve told him the bonding needs removing & pipe taken out then drill bigger holes to accommodate the plastic plates.
He doesn’t want to do that.
So, I’ve told him that maybe I can angle grinder a bit of tile out around the pipe to get the covers in the wall a bit, about 5mm I reckon. It’s a risk & ive told him upfront.
What do you reckon? I’ve given him a price whether it works or not. Plus I’ve told him more if the bonding needs taking off.
It’s a 50/50 chance. I reckon if I’m careful I can do it.
Wish me luck!!

If it’s any cancelation or help Rocky; on the Barrat Boxes etc they rarely use Porcelain Tiles, always cheap as chips ceramics & big fuckers too!! So there’s plenty times when pipes sticking out of bulkheads & walls are 5-10mm in the wrong place, so I carry & use a small cold chisel, to chip the tile around the pipe tile, there’s always a rosette to covers it anyway. You do get confident doing it & Ive never cracked a whole tile yet. HTH

Looks good.
I didn't understand the bit about the hole being too small for the " plastic pipe concealing covers" . Are they they chrome coloured covers in the last pic?
If it was me that needed to enlarge I'd probably fk it up so would try to practice on a spare bit of tile. Maybe I'd use my dremel.

Yeah the chrome covers needed to be in the wall to hold the pipes steady. I just chipped away bit by bit. All ok. Pipes nice & steady.
