Jimmy, I saw this coming 20 years ago when we were building these houses, I'll tell you how it happened,
30 years ago houses were built by BUILDERS, They were building houses ( mostly semis) and the first house paid the for the build and the second was pure profit,
The money men got onto this because, building houses did not need regular ' tooling up' , updating or development, a house is a house, So the money men bought up all the independent builders for the profit they would make and they put their ' lets make more money' executives in charge,
The indusrty changed almost overnight with, cheap materials, quick build , substandard housing with profit as a target, Lots of tradesmen left the new build so they enlisted sub contract newbies, mostly 6 month retrained pitmen the Maggie thath sacked and ex suaddies to build them,
and you bought one, as did many other folks thinking a new house will last a lifetime, As they used to,
