Just completed a mind numbing water regs refresher assesment. 40 questions with a reference to the page where you can find the answers in the most confusingly paged book I've ever seen in my life. You need 80% to pass but get 3 goes at getting the right answer from 4 possible answers. Only two answers I can now remember. What fluid category does heated mains wholesome water come under? a 1 b 2 c 3 d 4 Can you get it right in 3 attempts? Another one was on overflow pipes and warning pipes. I can remember from my college days that a warning pipe is just a different name for a overflow pipe. The answer to the question was a overfow and warning pipe not just an overflow pipe though. Plowing through the over complicated book of water regulations SECTION 111, page 5.5, A3, G6.1 and there's a drawing of a feed tank with two pipes leading to the outside one is lower down than the other - the lowest one is labelled "warning pipe" the one above it is labelled "overflow pipe" - read on and it says that the warning pipe could be combined with the overflow pipe to make it all one pipe. At this point I'm losing the will to live (what dick heads write all this nonesense (and they get paid for it too?  ) |

its a case of ' farmer pays the bankers wage' the farmer grafts like fuck for little wage because the banker is funding the money he has to borrow, the banker is lending other folks money to the farmer, the banker is what we all hate, a middle management, desk jockey, pushing pens and doing no graft and on a bigger salary than the farmer and the peoples money he is lending, we live in a class society and we are on the bottom of the hill, and guess where all the shit lands ?  |

Thirty years ago these places didn't exist, yet we all managed to do plumbing/gas fitting very well.
Don't get me wrong the tutors were all very nice people and just let us get on with it, supplying us with as many cups of tea that we wanted.
The government created an hole where there wasn't one and these training centers have simply sprung up to fill it and make extra ££££ out of all of us.

I’m the most important person in the Septic Tank Dafty, and don’t you forget it matey!!!! The Water Regs - like the Gas Regs, change all the time CF. It keeps people in a job & is there to trip us up. On New Builds, the Clipboard Warrior from Scottish Water appears from time-to-time, changing the Rules, wanting this & that. It’s pointless arguing with this Jobsworth, as you bend to his demands. I like most, just lick his arse & get on with it. You’re the most important guy in the Septic Tank, so just get on with it. The last big joke was Elf & Safety, this Site Agent twat was trying to tell us there was Drones flying above us, trying to catch people not wearing a Mask & Gloves to comply with the Kung Flu Site Regulations. Aye right, the site is under one of the main flightpaths for Glasga Airport. A drone would be shot out the sky, they don’t mess around at Glasga Airport(see extensive footage of terrorist attack of Glasga Airport). |
