It was the same here Dick until, they realized how much more they could make so, I did mine once and when the renewal notices came to me, they got filed in the the shredder, the robbin basterds got no more out of me,

Schhh Dick, keep quite about it and could save all Scottish plumbers quite a bit of £££s. My G3 runs out next year, about 6 months before I finally hang my tools up, so it'll be interesting if my firm will fork out the ££££s to re -register me for my last 6 months of work or not? If not, I will then be classed as unsafe to work on unvented systems for the final 6 months of my working life! When the gas/plumber trade separated in 1992 wasn't that at first a once lifelong assesment? GORGI administed it for the first few years until the government handed it to a new company gassafe? I remember passing the ACOPS assesment in 1995 that lasted for 5 years which was a "lifestyle" company assesment. Gasafe came around 1997 (am I remembering this right)? Tappy,

I think my G3 Unvented course was done by SNIPEF & it was BPEC that administered it. It’s in my GS card.
Did gas ACOPs a couple of times, registered with CORGI when it was still voluntary. I’ve got a 4 digit GS number.
I’ve got 3 years left on my ACS qualifications & I did my LPG Change-Over during Lockdown.
