Hello all
Can we discuss unvented set up & the prv.
Does the prv pipe come off of the valve on the cylinder in 15mm then go to the tundish & exit the tundish in 22mm?
Also, I believe there’s a measurement that needs to be adhered to?
Lastly, where does the prv need to exit to?
Cheers all

I've forgot all the rules and regs but, its important that the prv goes out in copper from the cylinder, the condensate can join it to go to waste after a 600 mm ( I'm sure about than figure), there is a 1, 2 3 rule of preferance where the waste goes to,
first preferred is soil waste, second is rain water waste, and third is a soak away,
but do you know what,,,,I put my own boiler in a few months ago and just put the condensate out of the wall on to my new drive and keeping an eye on it, Will it bring my house down because it rot the foundations, We will see,

How are they joined? This would save me hassle

yes, do the prv from the cylinder in 22mm copper, join the condensate in a 22x22x22 plastics tee after 2 metres, to be sure about the permitted lenght , you will need a plastic 3/4 to 22mm adaptor for the overflow pipe to join the plastic tee, then run it to outside or, Do as dick says but, use a dry trap to go into waste to stop the smell,

The D2 from an Unvented Cylinder can be in plastic & connect to a soil SVP, however, the pipe & fittings should be High Temperature type & have a Fanny Trap.
Lots of combi boilers now have internal PRV blowoff & condensate pipes combined in the boiler. You can also combine both pipes from other combis with a Hot Tun arrangement👍

Thanks. I’ve seen the Hotun tundish that doesn’t allow smells back up.

Mainly a 22mm discharge is enough, however, there is a formula based on the number of bends/fittings in the run and a lot of bends and a long run could mean a 28mm discharge is needed. A pictures wortb a thousand words - if I can get in the training center next week I'll make another short video of the PRV set up for us (that's two I'm owing now ).

Do you know, here in Jockoland we only need to do our Unvented G3 qualifications once, it last a lifetime!! I did mine Donkeys years ago & never need to do a refresher, it’s even on my GS Card.
Fitted loads of UVCs & maintained them too👍
