Hi Guy's went to look at this job tonight CH system Combi High pressure three floors town house guy wants to change a Radiator and the pipes need changing / moving .........Plastic push fit pipes ( 10mm Dia ) Now when you look at existing pipes they disappear up behind the Rad into a wall box ( see Photo ) do these pipes just push fit into the wall like a John Guest fitting or what ? As I need to make them longer and really want to remove from wall box and just add longer ones I will of course drain down top floor first before trying to remove the old radiator So what's my position please Attachment Deleted

once you've drained and made sure all the rads above are empty, take those pipes out of that 'pipe box' and put 10mm couplings or elbows and extend them to where you need to,

Hi Asda, that wee box is a Manthorpe Box, used on all steel panel radiators in new builds. The Rad is on 10mm drop feeds & you can easily extend/alter them behind the plasterboard. 10mm Push Fit fittings & inserts will do the jobđź‘Ť

Talking of neutral gender bollux that Christmas song by that Irish alcoholic & that bird, I can’t think of their names but a famous song, anyway, some radio stations can’t play the original song now because of some of the lyrics that might offend the younger generation
What a load of shite
I tell you this, if Britain had to go to war & the call up came we’d be fucked.

The Manthorpe is not a connection Asda, it’s a plate the 10mm tubes pass through mate👍 Generally, the tubes are continuous from the Manifold or Tee to the radiator. HTH

Those aren't fittings on the box, they're just airtight grommets to satisfy the tree huggers so that houses are airtight. Once you have drained down, removed pipes from valves and lifted off the rad you have two choices. Alter the pipes on outside of wall by adding new pipe with pushfit couplers. Or slide the box down the pipes and make the connections inside the wall. Then refit the box in hole in wall and refit rad.
EDIT>>>>>> Beat me to it, Dick.

fking hell. What annoyed me even more was that Sky couldn't even be clear about which words were supposed to be offensive. But whatever, are we going to go back a hundred years and airbrush all words we don't like today? Life must be really, really good for most people to spend their time worrying about this sh1t. When toilets were in the garden (that must be fun in middle of the night) we had more important things to think about. Lyrics are here: I think the word they don't like is faggot. But "an old slut on junk" is ok? www.google.com/search?q=fairytale+of+new+york+lyrics&oq=Fairytale+Of+New+York+lyrics

The clue is in the "New build" Dick. Dafty was doing his civic duty reminding us the "old way" is no longer acceptable!!! NO MATTER what you do, think, want, the minorities HAVE to be first. Those 10 millies, (hopefully I have spelt that right...), useless as they may be, MUST be heard!
Now grab your wallet, and off to the "re-education centre" with you!!

Many thanks guy's for your help so to what i understand you could just cut either pipe where ever then fit pipe support tubes then just use appropriate push fit then add new piece of pipe to extend to the new rad position the only thing is the Guy wants to change from a panelled radiator to a towel Rad so the pipework will now be visible !!!! still that's up to the customer..............

Could you extend the pipes inside the hole in the wall so they go further down inside wall then come out through new hole in wall just below new towel rad? Then fill in original hole where the box is?
Will look a bit shite if pipes come out original box position behind new towel rail then go down behind rail then connect to valves. Will also get in the way of putting towels on rail.
