An electrician wired an immersion on an unvented & cut the earth wire out.
Why ether do that?

I assume the earth lug was to tricky for him or he stripped it but it should be on as its not double insulated.

Before you pull his head off post a picture of the actual wiring in case he's using that bit of cabling for the thermal cut out.
