Great to know and thanks a lot for such quick reply ! I've posted up the clip anyway and you can see the slot under the sink. I was thinking if I have them I may as well use them but if I can't manage it then definitely good to know its no big deal. Attachments:

Right I've done it with sillycone only and just normal dow silicone. I have to say I think once set I'd seriously struggle to get it out even if I tried. Still a worry at the back of my mind if it will move when the lady is doing the pots. Thats only coz I'm a worrier

move ? what with the weight of those full of water and pots as well, no chance, the sillycunt is doing 2 jobs, fixing down and stopping water ingress to the worktop, and like you say, getting the bugger out is the hard bit so make sure your Missus don't drop a pan in, they have been known to crack if hit with a heavy pan,

Silicone is an amazing adhesive, give 24hrs to fully cure and you will struggle to separate it.

Cheers all for the advice. Its looking all right now. Put quite a bit down so it squeezed out the edged - mopped up with my fugi then meths. Then next problem, the supplied tails with the tap that I bought are 400mm long and I couldn't get the cold in without kinking it. Off to Screwfix tomorrow to get some 300mm ones. Just hope the 10mm end is close to identical to the ones that came with the tap (cook & lewis crap) You can ignore that ermm quality waste hose connection - was testing the dishwasher first fix. Update: No need to go to screwfix. They don't seem to sell the same type of flexible tap tail anyway as far as I can see. But I managed to get the existing one in without kinking.
