Hi Guy's Quick question what is the ruling on Flushing a central heating system when a new boiler is being Fitted ?? I always thought it was a Mandatory thing to be done that the system must be flushed before fitting a new boiler ?? Recommendation was what I was told if you don't replace all the radiators. However, if your selling a warranty you must for fill the deal and that means flushing, filters and chemical additives with annual follow up visits and PH testing of the water and inhibitor then that's the route.

Hi Astra, yes, Its recommended by the manufacturer to flush the system before fitting a new boiler, The definition of "Flushing" can mean, draining off and refilling or, taking the rads off rinsing each one outside or powerflushing, Its up to the installer to price and provide the service, Up'T Northwest, our water is less hard than Southern softie water so, In my experiance, I drain off, give a cold rinse with an hose and never had an issue, other areas with differ, use your own judgement
