Hi all Got a bathroom refurb to do in my own house in jan next year..usually get a spark to fit electric shower but considering a thermostatic one this time. Are they still like years ago where they go roasting hot when someone flushes the bog or turns the cold water tap on in the kitchen. If songs there anything you can fit to them to reduce the heat risk

a thermastatic shower will not do that, If you had a shower doing that, It would have been a manual shower, A thermastatic shower will STAY at the same temp, that is the point of those, you might lose a bit of pressure but the temp will stay the same, buy a good un Mira are the best, triton are as good and cheaper,

Have you got a combi boiler?
If so, if another tap is opened you may see the shower fluctuate in power which may cause temperature drop/rise.

It depends on how the plumbing is? Best have a look at all the options first like having a good mains pressure, gravity direct system or unvented system or combi', one of the advantages of the electric shower along with a combi' is if the combi' goes down then you've still got your showering facilities.

Mira is worth the extra loot and is definitely a very stable shower, with excellent temperature control.
However, as already stated it will show the pressure drop if the water supply demand is used elsewhere in the same property and to cure that issue can prove to be very expensive for minor issue as the temperature is held.

A non plumber +1 for Mira.
I fitted a Mira Mode which has integrated pump and digital mixer to pull water in from my tank about 15M away ! I does a beautiful job and isn't that noisy. More of a "whooshing" sound than an annoying "grinding" sound that some make. Was about £500 from memory but that included everything - main box, two controllers (I got one outside the shower), big raindancing head type thing and a side shower and bar plus a load of fittings. Well worth it.

I’m a Mira exel ev fan
Have one a my house, installed one at the house I’m moving to in 6 weeks.
Never had any problems with mine
Not the cheapest but quality costs
I only buy stuff that I know I can buy spares for if I need them
The £30 Chinese shite is a throw away item
But each to their own

Just over 40 sheets & will give good service, IF the Valves goes tits up, then just replace it with a 20 quid valve from eBay👍👍👍 www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390914255500

You don't really want to fit an expensive "Fancy Dan" shower that's beyond your boilers range. Mira Excel is a very good shower too if you want to splash the extra cash.
