Bloody hell I'm a dafty and even I think thats a bit of pointless plastic. It would be too heavy for me to lift by myself but even if I wanted to do that why not use an old lockshield valve in the closed position but I'm sure there are better options.

Normally just organise myself with what I've got - meaning I'm happy to watch it drain if I've planned the job into my day. However, if I'm rushing I will use a couple of plugs but not much beats having plenty time!

As said, I just use a couple of plugs on the Rad tails. A wee Takeaway tray underneath & Bob is a close relative👍👍👍

rubble sacks are an exellent tool, If you are cutting pipes in a floorboard space, you cannot fit a tray but a rubble sack will go anywhere, just make sure its got no holes in it,

I like to use the rubble sack behind a low level pan , open the siphon nun and let the last bit of water come flooding out👍👍👍👍

Cut down plastic milk tubs are a favourite of mine along with another narrow strip cut off it to direct the flow - then I caulk the valve with a bit of old rag before the lift.
