It's been the longest Christmas break that I've ever experienced and also the quietest one. However, it's back to work tomorrow for me for 3 days of my new retirement working. I'm wondering if any extra restrictions will have been put into place regarding who I can work with and what type of jobs I can do now that I'm working in a 4 tier area? Probably none at all, because us plumbers are real The Covid-busters! "Somethings leaking in the bathroom? who you gonna call?" "The Covid-Busters" !

I'm back tomorrow too, you would think our fooking gaffas who are sat safe at home would say only go out to extremely critical jobs! stay safe! I'm still expected to work the same as always 😟😟😟

I dunno What I'll be doing, the roads are too dangerous for biking, the paths and canal banks are Too icy or muddy, too cold for fishing, I might just go walking and try out my new boots, Stanley fat max, screwfix normal price £49.99 Offer price £34.99. So I used my £10 voucher and got them for £24.99 ya gotta love a bargain like that, waterproof, toe protection , sole protection and a nice sturdy boot, Thank you Peter,

I’m not back until the 11th. I carried forward a few days, this was because of the Kung Flu in 2020. So, next week I’ve a few Homers to catch up on & May do a couple of days for a couple of guys I know, it’s always Beer Tokens. Nice easy work, fixing heating Systems & shit like that👍👍👍
Most sites start up again on Tuesday in Jockoland.

It’d be nice to have work!
I’ll look for some these coming weeks. I’ve still got things to do at the hide I’m moving to in mid February. It’s nearly done.
Then I’ll definitely need work otherwise I’ll be really bored.

You should be prioritised for the vaccine IMO (if you want to take it) You are definitely an essential worker. Yes a dripping tap might not be urgent but if you can't fix those your firm goes bust and there is nobody available to sort out proper leaks. Out of interest, what percentage of your work would you class as pretty important? Leaks, heating gone off etc ?

in plumbing and gas the words, uncontrollable gas leak, gets you urgent attention, similar with water bus less of a priority ,

Almost anything DD in plumbing can be made to sound urgent. I've been sent to bad toilet leaks that turn out to be nothing more than condensation - once even to look at a creaking bath that the tenant thought was about to come through the ceiling! A smell of gas that turns out to be some rotten fruit that's fallen down the back of a cooker 6 months ago.
I await tomorrows job selection with baited breath .

My mate who works for Timpsons has already been fast-tracked and given the vaccine.
He's a key worker.

Well that's my 3 days done this week during which I've worked in around 20 different properties and must have had contact with upwards of 100 people. But can I visit my Son or Daughter's house? No! It makes no sense at all does it? In my 3 days at work I carried out all types of repairs from fitting new taps to adjusting TMV - even had a job to look at a patch of mould in a cupboard! The Customers don't seem to care about calling in the plumber this time More encouraging is that more shops are staying open than before even though less people were about town. I'll stay safe now for four days, until Monday anyway .

On the New Builds not doing the ‘maintenance’(read snagging) will be a bonus, these will get knocked back due to the Kung Flu, unless of course it’s a MILF or young fit bird. Then you’re in like Flinn & into their Knicker Drawer at the first opportunity👍👍👍 👙👙
