I always fit a fluidmaster if I can when replacing either the flush or filler in a loo. The merchants didn't have any fluidmaster fill valves in today so went to toolstation and got a Wirquin Jollyfill brass shank fill valve for £8 odd, anyone use these valves? At £5 less than fluidmasters plastic shanked version, if no-one has anything bad to say about them, I'll be fitting them as a first choice in future. It says Macdee and Wirquin on the link but it was labelled Wirquin, guessing they're the same company. www.toolstation.com/shop/Plumbing/d20/Toilet+Fittings/sd2835/Macdee+Telescopic+Bottom+Fill+Valve/p35567

yea they're very good, brass inlet which i like, there's nothing worse than cross threading a plastic inlet in a tight space, had no problems with them and at the price they're unbeatable,

Nice, can't go wrong at £6.50 if they do the job. I liked the fact that the Jollyfill I posted above is OK if the float part touches anything inside the cistern, it doesn't catch because the actual float is inside a housing that doesn't move - if you know what I mean. Is the one you posted the same?

ah, they're not a stock item in plumfix you have to collect next day, thats why i've not seen them, I agree with you about spending where you want, I pick the best prices and go there, I don't like shitfixes policies but, I'll not cut my nose off to spite my face, i don't buy copper from them or fittings just the things that they do cheap, its a business thing, plus the girls on the counter are pleasant, some of the staff in my local plumbers merchants are wankers, smiley-taunt005 show bum

I need a 2'' one for my own vanity w.c. though but the fluidmaster cable is about an inch too short at 350mm, I'm sick of the bellows behind the button breaking on the one I have in there, never been keen on pneumatic ones. Any idea how long the cable is on these? Can't find out on poofix.

I carry these as van stock www.plumbcenter.co.uk/product/wirquin-jollyflush-dual-flush-jollyfill-pack/ (wow, look at that price!)and they are quite good. Getting the spares individually can be quite a pain though so I just open the pack and use what I need (I have to try and fix it in one visit even if it's just the button that's gone). You can also convert a syphon to push button with one of these packs.

Sadly the cable is only 270mm. Perfect for most cc toilets, but sadly not for vanity types
