evening all hope everyone is ok, I'm working with a gas man who is teaching me the way but i am not gas safe at the minute is getting a pain in the ass. old lady rings me saying boiler is making swooshing noises i go round have a look and water pissing out the blow off to the outside. Worchester junior. luckily enough the blow off I could get to underneath and reset it and seal it as a quick fix as it was 6pm. managed to get her up and running again till gas man take a look at it possible needs new expansion vessel is needed. and when im working with him on boiler installs i think to my self how do electricians wire modern combis if they are not allowed to take the casing off if they aint gas safe

At our company (private company doing installs/repairs/service for council housing), the install lads wire the boiler to a 3 pin plug and when the sparkies arrive later on or the next day they just cut the flex and wire to the fuse spur, so the boiler case stays on

I used to wire my own, I have no formal wiring quals but, still did it, As most did untill the pen pushing desk jockeys who don't know an earth wire from a cable tie made rules to say, you must pay the course provider a fee to say you know which is the red un, the black un and which is the tuther, wait a minute,,,, no, its changed to a brown un and a blue un, So you need another course now ,
