Hello
In my house the pump was on constantly even with demand for Ch the flow pipe is hot from the 2 port to the boiler but after the 2 port it’s cold.
I’ve had the water heated every morning at 0500hrs for 30 mins which seems to heat the cylinder & stays nice & hot all day.
So I’m not sure how to find the fault & fix it.
I’ve been up in the loft & I moved the 2 port heat valve across with my fingers & it moved freely & then moved back to the off position.
After a minute the pump stopped.
I’ve programmed the heat to come on for 30 mins so I can see if it turns off automatically as it should.
I’ll do the same with the water now & report back in half an hour.
Cheers all

The heating seems to shut off but the boiler seems to be constantly on. I think it might be something to do with the Nest controller but in 2 days the electric is showing £9.22 charge! I need to find a solution to cut the boiler & shut it down.
Any thoughts please?

I’ve been out to fix a blocked sink & just returned. The boiler is off.
Is there an over run facility on the boiler? If so, how long should it cycle before turning off?
Cheers all

First thing to check is when the heating goes off that there's no voltage from the orange wire from ch 2 port. If orange is dead but pump is running it may be the boiler pump overrun if the pump is wired directly into boiler.
Not a boiler expert, but if you give make and model of boiler, someone with more knowledge may help with info on pump overrun fault.

Yup, check the microswitch on the CH zone valve is not jammed & will freely engage when the synchron motor spins On.
Also, check your boiler, if it got a permanent Live, then it’ll have a Pump-Overrun Thermostat & the Pump will be wired from the boiler. The Pump-Overrun stat could be faulty?
