Hi 2nd question My boiler has developed a leak on the heating flow valve under the boiler . A gsr engineer diagnosed the fault but won't return cos its not worth his time. His words not mine and I guess he wanted to sell me a new boiler fit.I'm going to get a new gsr engineer out but curious do ypu need to gas safe to replace this valve as it connects to the boiler but isn't in the boiler. And its a heating pipe not gas Just curious... like i say I have an engineer coming out I was just curious. What a c*nt and great you are sorting it out by yourself. I'll not comment technically to your latest questions as with Tom and Battle helping you out, you've got the best on the forum

Thanks Olive splitter and New olive on the compression joint? or just use the old olive and nut with a bit of ptfe and jet blue ?? How do I blownoff the prv ?? Inside that fitted inside ? If you want to keep it simple just deal with the water at the valve, as the PRV can leak after actuating it. i would just use the same olive with the PTFE wrapped around the olive and jet blue.

I agree with battle, once the job is done, you are in a perfect spot to see a leak and stop filling,
the PRV, is the blow off, as battle says, they can , not seal, again, but in my experience, a bit of twitching at them will work wonders, and the worst case senerio is, unscrew it out, rinse it under a cold tap, and 99% of the time, its ok but, you are , johnny on the spot and come back and report,

Sorry one last question... Once the system is repressurised and assuming no leaks i take it I leave the mains inlet ( not the fill loop), the hot water, flow and return valves underneath the boiler all in the open position ?? Obvs not touching the gas.
