Hi 2nd question
My boiler has developed a leak on the heating flow valve under the boiler . A gsr engineer diagnosed the fault but won't return cos its not worth his time. His words not mine and I guess he wanted to sell me a new boiler fit.
I'm going to get a new gsr engineer out but curious do ypu need to gas safe to replace this valve as it connects to the boiler but isn't in the boiler. And its a heating pipe not gas Just curious... like i say I have an engineer coming out I was just curious.

If you don’t need to access the boiler innards you can work on it. If you need to take the cover off you can’t.

hello scousep, welcome to the brew cabin, On this site there is no, " you can't do this are that" our motto is, rules are for fools but, In your case its a water valve and there are no regs to stop you changing it, Its not a big job, if you post the name and model of the boiler and a picture if possible, I will show you where to get one and tell you how to it, There are others here too who will, tell you i'm right or Say, " there's a better way to do that scouse lad" So come back with some details mate and we'll sort you out,

Are all the boiler valves generic or specifically tailored to each boiler...the valve i have is .22mm x 3/4 inch...I will use a 3/4 fibre washer ?

You seem well switched on to me - Yours is just a Universal Angled 90 Degree Isolation Valve 22mm x 3/4" For ALL Boilers if your going to all that effort I would fit a valve for the price of one subject to where you buy it £10 to £20.

yes mate the valve are all similar, as boiler is up stairs it will be above all the rads, if so, just blow off the pressure from the PRV, then change the vavle , have a bucket or bowl under the boiler to catch any sneaky hidding water in the boiler/pipes, its a 2 min job, bit of paste on the valve and bobs yur uncle, recharge the system, vent any rads above the boiler, job done,
