Just seen this very old Rad valve ...........Now how do you remove the Grey cap so I can turn the valve off Please Attachment DeletedTried twisting with hand and pulling off did not want to force it as I was not sure Help Please !!!!!!!!!!!!1

I dunno mate, If it was me,I'd inform the customer that its old and will need replacing, I'll try a few ways but, be prepared before I start that, It might need a full drain off replacement and might take a days work, Then I'd try turning first with grips, if that failed, I'd try levering it off then, if none worked its saw time, there might be a srew down valve underneath but, that could be a decorators cap and its thermostatic, good luck Pal,

It looks like it ripe for breaking under any force that.
I’d tell the customers that it’s 50/50 & see what they want to do.

Hi Guy's
One end is leaking normal rad valve wheel head BUT although the rad is in good condition is very old and not sure what will happen when you
have to remove the rad tail as it will not fit with todays valves .........But yes will try to remove with grips but will worn the custards First

the rad tail will be the same, they are 99.9% 1/2 FI ( female iron) but you might get unlucky on a skool radiator and get a 3/4 FI, in that case you can get a 'bush' 3/4 to 1/2 inch, So you'll never get stuck on the rad valve change with the size but, you can get in trouble getting the old tail out, If its been in there donkeys years and the fitter used red hemrite, A good amount of heat and humping will be needed,
