Which soil pipe system is better solvent weld push fit or ring seal? A complete replacement. If i go for solvent weld as main soil pipe can i add basins and shower wastes to it in push fit? If i go for push fit as main soil pipe can i add basins and shower wastes to it in solvent weld?

Usually the 4” stacks push together these days with different bosses & branches etc.

I typically use a mixture of both, with the upper most parts being solvent weld, above the roof guttering line for the cap and gooseneck.
Why - as the wind can move them out of position in exposed areas resulting in a call back on ergonomics.

So battle you use the push fit up to the gooseneck and then solvent weld after that. is that correct? Do you use a special adapter to go from push fit to solvent weld?

No special adaptor just weld a piece of soil pipe into the fitting below the gutter line and a push fit fitting goes onto that stub for whatever was needed below before getting to the gutter line. For the solvent weld part of the job.

All soil pipe will double up as pushfit or solvent, If you buy soilpipe without a collar on, you can get a pushfit for it or solvent,

Imo if youre not used to working with soil pipe go for push fit. On the gooseneck you can put some weld on the pushfit once youre happy with it. Use fairy liquid for lube if youre taking it off and putting weld on after. Edit Cut and chamfer with a 4 inch grinder and masonry disc.

If you do go SW make sure to put plenty of glue on the joint, if you skimp on the glue and then get a leak it can be a right bastard to fix.
I would normally used soil pipe swan neck bends that are one side glue and the other side push fit on push fit soil pipe.

tom would you choose solvent weld or push fit for a complete replacement. I would go solvent weld every time because, its much neater and reliable but, Its harder to work with and that solvent cement can make a mess if you're not careful with it, not enough and you get leaks, as crowfoot says, Too much and it will run everywhere and if it gets wet, It stains the pipe and if it gets on your hands, it will take weeks to get off, Another disadvantage is, if you get it wrong, you have to cut it out and replace the pipe so, it can work out more expensive, So push fit might be the better option for the DIYer,

And as a DIYer, I agree. For small 32/40/50mm waste pipes I've used SW every time. For 4 inch soil pipes I'd be nervous spreading the paste all around and lining everything up so I've always gone with push-fit.
