Anyone recently started using Press Fit fittings. What’s your thoughts & experiences with it?

I can see why some companies use it, especially if they would normally get a hot works permit for certain commercial works. To be honest it's not much different to pushfit as it relies on a rubber seal - and at least pushfit are reusable. Bloody expensive for the kit and fittings too !!! It won't be long before Plumberparts gets gifted one and paid to do a video telling everyone how fantastic they are

I used it in the early nineties on a hospital extension in Preston, the main contractor insisted on all prestex and machine bends, No elbows or 45 degree fittings, the early press machines were big , heavy , 110 volt and clumsy It made for hard work because , everything was in ceiling voids and the power points were too few and far apart, nightmare, Never even thought about using it sinse,,
