Notoriously bad those pull-out taps aj. You can pay a lot of money for crap taps of which nearly all modern taps are.
I always go for the Pegler's contract brand (screwfix) - they are cheap but of a reasonable quality.
For a pull-out (if you must) I'd look for a commercial use one.
The types fitted in restaurants and aim to spend big (then you might just get a reasonable tap).

I go for the cheap ones at screwfix, about £30 because, Screwfix will warrantee it for 12 months and swap it without any arguments right up to the 12 period, You can't get fairer than that,

I’ve got a a Franke at my house. It’s pretty good.
I’d rather buy a brand as you can usually get spares for it.
Plus a 5 year warranty
Easy to fit. Look modern.
But it depends on budgets too.

I avoid Franke whenever I can because of the costs of the replacement 1/4 turn cartridges. Had one Carron Pheonix (Franke's posher range) tap where they wanted £70 for the valves and shrouds that you needed for them, since then I've steered clear. I don't really have a preferred brand but when buying taps for my home I go to the merchants and get hands on with the ones there, you can feel quality, can't see it in a brochure.

Quality isn’t cheap but £70 is a bit much
