Looks like I'll be replacing a big rad in the living room with a smaller one. (2200 down to 1800) Flomasta comes recommended (but their valves are apparently not so good so hope the rads are ?)
Anyway, seems like I could: A/ re-use the existing angled drayton with 2 bends or B/ just come straight out of the floor and use just 1 bend with a straight valve lying horizontal.
Is there normal way of doing this? Would the pipework in A look Daft? Would it look neater with just the one bend but then I'd need to buy a new straight TRV.

In that situation I would adjust the pipework under the floor so. you can use the old valves and come straight up , bends look untidy near a rad but. its your house Dafty and from what we know of the in-laws, they won't mind so. do whatever is easy for you, there is no crime in making life easy but, for the trained eye, Its not acceptable,

Thanks a lot Tom. I should have said its a concrete floor but I guess I could still excavate the pipe and get it neat.
That might be too much work for the reward but if I did do that would I need to wrap the pipe that I'm burying in something ? Denso?
