As I predicted it looks as if "Watersafe" has now arrived, granted it's only voluntary at the moment but take it from me it won't be long it becomes legalised. You know I'm really glad that I'm out of this trade (almost 1 year ago since I retired) now. www.youtube.com/@watersafe2013/featured |

I can see all this coming to the trade in the very near future right from the time that I was first sent on an "water regulations training course" (about 10 years ago).
Afterwards we got the quiz paper full with delightful questions like -:
What fluid category is mains water that's been heated by a combi' boiler?

If you fail the paper you can always resit for another couple of hundred quid!!

Reminds me of the occupants of a block of Tenement Flats in Glasgow. An Asian family on the Top Floor, fitted an arse wash shower beside the WC. DIY job, connected to the Communal Rising Cold Main pipe. The shower head/arse spray fell into the WC.
Work was being done on another Flat & the Communal Rising Main was shut off at the Pavement Toby, there’s no individual Flat Stop Cocks in some of these Tenements. Everyone living in that Tenement Block of Flats got poisoned, the water got contaminated when the arse shower Back Siphoned.
Never let DaftyDIYers or untrained, unlicensed individuals do Plumber Work.

At a brew time on a site many years ago, a young plumber was telling of a boiler he fixed, His uncle had phoned him because his combi boiler was leaking from the blow off out let, He boasted of how he fixed it and made a quick £50 by putting a 15mm compression stop end on the outlet,, When the laughter stopped in the brew cabin , he looked supersized when another plumber said, " I hope thats a joke ", his embarrassment made it obvious that, he was not joking, he later admitted that, he quickly went and took it off,,  |
