Resits? Resits? I wouldn't want a plumber anywhere near my boiler who didn't know the Mass Flow Rate Triangle Formula and the Specific Heat Capacity of Water...

Ha Ha , good thread this Dick but, that is rocket science and, I've never seen a fag packet with those little squares before , Is it a chef's square shaped soup packet ?

It reminds me of 'Tighenit' A screwfix forum member of the plumbers board, He lived in Scotland as well but, worked in my area doing the 1960's on a housing project and mentioned that, When they installed heating the boss would draw the pipework for them on a woodbine packet, He told me if i ever drag a back boiler out with a woodbine fag packet behind it, It was work he did, relicts from the past of workmen in houses,

Reminds me of the evening maths lessons that we used to have at college. We would just copy from the blackboard (parrot fashioned)into our text books without any of it ever being properly explained by the tutor!

I got Excluded from Skool for selling Drugs & taking Senga McIntyre’s virginity behind the Bike Sheds. Education didn’t play a big part in my attendance at Skool.

Where does the *84 radiator heating value come from? So dear boy, the 84 is for a standard CH system with a Delta T of 20°C between the Flow & Return, multiplied by the Specific Heat Capacity of Water of 4.2. 20°C x 4.2 = 84 This gives you a figure to quickly calculate the Flow Rates on Standard CH systems with a condensing boiler. 👍
