Now, we’ve come a long way in boiler technology in the past few years. But the two main moving parts in a condensing Gas Boiler are the Fan & the Circulation Pump. For the fan, it not only displaces the Products of Combustion, it also determines the amount of Gas it pushes into the Burner, controlling the size of flame. The Circulation Pump not only circulates water around the system, it also determines the flow rate through the boiler.
So, both of these components have motors & these motors(in most boilers) are controlled by the Boiler’s PCB. Both of these motors Modulate, go fast or slow. Here’s how that is done;
