I've been to 2 jobs this week where I've had to buy a whole float valve because the float has become loose after the installer originally overtightened it and the bit of plastic in the below pic has failed. It's a lettings agency I work for so I'm thinking there'll be more as they have 400+ properties and he was the plumber before me. I have a fixed price for certain repairs including fixing fill valves. The only solution viable at the moment is to replace most of the float valve even though it works fine apart from the bit in question, or as I did today, buy a float valve and just take this bit off it and use it on the existing one. The cheapest I can find these valves is just under a fiver from toolstation, if I could source a handful of just the bit I need I could make more money from each job, erm I mean save the environment because I wouldn't be buying all that plastic to just throw most of it away Problem is I can't find the bit I need on it's own, tbh I don't know where to start because I have no idea what it's called. Any ideas?

I think it’s a Torbeg Fill Valve, perhaps ask the manufacturers for a part number or even some spare ones FOC?

Dick as normal i# correct but a more precise description is
TORBECK B704A 1/2" Bottom Entry Filling Valve
or could be listed as Delchem B704A Bottom Entry Toilet Ball-cock / Float / Fill Valve 1/2 Inch
I’ve not seen that part sold separately JC.

I think you're right Battle, Its not sold as a spare, you have to buy the whole valve or butcher an old one and frankinstien the other one,

Thanks chaps. I've never thought to keep hold of these bits before when removing them, think I'll start doing. Good idea about contacting Torbeck DP, I'll email them
